Summary:
Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has an opening for an Elderly Supervisor in Hattiesburg, MS. Previous experience working with elderly population preferred.

Senior Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (Senior PSR) are structured activities designed to support and enhance the ability of the elderly to function at the highest possible level of independence in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.  The activities target the specific needs and concerns of the elderly, while aiming to improve reality orientation, social adaptation, physical coordination, daily living skills, time and resource management, tasks completion and other areas of competence that promote independence in daily life.  Activities in the program are designed to alleviate such psychiatric symptoms as confusion, anxiety, disorientation, distraction, preoccupation, isolation, withdrawal and feelings of low self-worth.

Requirements:
Education/License:

  • Master's degree in Behavioral Healthcare required
  • Professional clinical licensure required
  • Must possess a valid Mississippi driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • MS CDL license required within 60 days of hire

    Work Experience/Skills:

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Efficient use of time management and energy by keeping thoughts free of obstruction in an effort to diffuse issues and needs of consumers
  • Four (4) years behavioral healthcare experience required
  • Independent work ability
  • Must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, follow directions and demonstrate leadership initiative in providing services
  • Must have the ability to think independently to determine direction of work flow

  • Responsibilities:
  •  Coordinate and provide clinical services.
  •  Supervise and train staff.
  •  Conduct staff meetings and oversee attainment of goals for program; general consultation, education and advocacy to other community agencies.
  •  Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of consumer served.
  •  Possesses the ability to access data reflective of the consumer status in an effort to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each consumer requirements relative to their age specific needs.
