Direct Support Professional- Community Living - Part-Time

Summary:
PBMHR has PRN positions available for Direct Support Professionals to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a supervised living community. Experience working in community housing and with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.  

Position is located in Hattiesburg, Ellisville, and Laurel, MS. Various days with evening and weekend shifts available. Guaranteed hours, multiple shifts available. Hours 4P-8P, 4P-9P, 5P-9P, 6P-10P plus opportunities to fill in as needed.

Requirements:
Education/License:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to obtain MS CDL Class D Driver's License with two weeks of hire
  • Valid Mississippi driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • CNA certification a plus
  • Reliable transportation needed to provide services in the community

  • Work Experience/Skills:

  • Experience working with the IDD population preferred
  • Experience assisting others with ADLs preferred
  • Experience working in a community living setting preferred
  • Will pass CPR, MANDT, and other required training

  • Responsibilities:
  • Accompanies and transports individuals on supervised community outings, work, appointments, and other places of the individual's choice.
  • Assist individuals with learning independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, and social skills.
  • Completes all required documentation on time and by PBMHR standards. Will document activities and observation notes into an electronic medical record (EMR).
