Summary:
Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has an opening for a full-time and part-time LPN. Position will cover 12 hour day shifts as needed. Will work with clients with SMI diagnosis in a residential group home setting.

Group homes and other types of supportive housing combine housing and services in an enclosed and supportive setting. Participants in supportive housing share rooms or rent individual apartments in a location set aside for people who meet specific criteria. Participants also have access to staff 24 hours per day.


For 40 years, Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has served individuals throughout the Pine Belt.  Through an extensive continuum of care, we strive to enable adults with serious mental illnesses, children with serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with an addiction or developmental disability to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities.  Our nine county service area includes Forrest, Jones, Lamar, Covington, Greene, Jeff Davis, Marion, Perry, and Wayne Counties.  

Requirements:
Education/License:

  • Must have graduated from an accredited LPN program
  • Valid MS LPN license
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required
     

  • Work Experience/Skills:

  • Efficient use of time management and energy by keeping thoughts free of obstruction in an effort to diffuse issues and needs of consumers
  • Independent work ability
  • Behavioral healthcare experience preferred

  • Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the health, safety, comfort, and welfare of each individual in the home. 
  • Observes medication compliance of residents.
  • Provides educational classes to residents of the group home.
  • The LPN is responsible to the clients for rendering nursing care in assigned area in terms of individualized client needs according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the County Administrator.
