Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources, a CARF-accredited community mental health center, is actively recruiting for a full-time Psychiatrist to provide services to our adult and adolescent clients. Some day travel to outlying clinics is required on scheduled rotation. This position has some on-call duties.

  • Medical Degree in medicine from an accredited medical school required.
  • Mississippi Medical licensure required.
  • Board eligible in child psychiatry preferred.

    Work Experience/Skills:
  • Completion of fellowship preferred.
  • Efficient use of time management and energy by keeping thoughts free of obstruction in an effort to diffuse issues and needs of consumers.
  • Must have the ability to think independently to determine direction of work flow.
  • Must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, follow directions and demonstrate leadersgip initiative in providing services.
  • Independent work ability.
  • Mobility and ability to bend and reach during a work day
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 20 pounds
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate consumer needs and maintain accurate records
  • Fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing of reports, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally
  • Position requires ability to sit for duration of several hours at a time and ability and mobility to access clients through home and community visits.

  • Responsibilities:
  • A typical day for this position would consist of 2-3 new evaluations and 10-12 med checks.
  • This position is expected to provide face-to-face services for 6.5-7 hours per day.
  • Completes progress notes and staff supervision as needed.
  • Will have some supervision duties for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
