Elderly Supervisor

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is looking for a caring and energetic supervisor candidate who is ready for a leadership role in an elderly day treatment program. This supervisor role will be responsible for the daily operations of the program.

Senior Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (Senior PSR) are structured activities designed to support and enhance the ability of the elderly to function at the highest possible level of independence in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.  The activities target the specific needs and concerns of the elderly, while aiming to improve reality orientation, social adaptation, physical coordination, daily living skills, time and resource management, tasks completion and other areas of competence that promote independence in daily life.  Activities in the program are designed to alleviate such psychiatric symptoms as confusion, anxiety, disorientation, distraction, preoccupation, isolation, withdrawal and feelings of low self-worth.

For 40 years, Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has served individuals throughout the Pine Belt.  Through an extensive continuum of care, we strive to enable adults with serious mental illnesses, children with serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with an addiction or developmental disability to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities.  Our nine county service area includes Forrest, Jones, Lamar, Covington, Greene, Jeff Davis, Marion, Perry, and Wayne Counties.  

  • Master's degree in Behavioral Healthcare required
  • Professional clinical license preferred
  • Must possess a valid Mississippi driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • MS CDL license required within 60 days of hire
  • Behavioral health internship required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to plan events/activities in program to keep consumers engaged
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal format

  • Responsibilities:
  •  Coordinate and provide clinical services for elderly day treatment program.
  •  Supervise and train staff.
  •  Develops, organizes, plans, implements, and evaluates a well-rounded and stimulating activity program which fosters a positive atmosphere through activities that meet the needs of consumers.
  •  Conduct staff meetings and oversee attainment of goals for program; general consultation, education and advocacy to other community agencies.
  •  Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of consumer served.
