Summary:
Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is actively seeking an energetic and motivated Children's MAP Team Specialist to coordinate MAP teams across 18 counties. The Children's MAP Team Specialist is located in Hattiesburg, MS. The Children's MAP Team Specialist position plays a vital role in the daily operations of this team.  Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is looking for a candidate with the ability to think independently to determine direction of workflow and has the ability to multi-task while managing multiple projects to complete on schedule.

Making A Plan (MAP) Teams address the needs of children/youth, birth up to twenty-one (21) years, with serious emotional/behavioral disorders and/or dually diagnosed with serious emotional/behavioral disorders and an intellectual disability or serious emotional disturbance and alcohol/drug use; who require services from multiple agency providers and multiple service systems, and who can be successfully diverted from inappropriate institutional placement.

 
For 50 years, Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has served individuals throughout the Pine Belt.  Through an extensive continuum of care, we strive to enable adults with serious mental illnesses, children with serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with an addiction or developmental disability to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities.  Our eighteen county service area includes Amite, Franklin, Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Jones, Lamar, Lawrence, Covington, Greene, Jeff Davis, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Pike, Stone, Walthall, Wayne Counties. 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral healthcare required
  • Mental Health experience preferred
  • Community behavioral healthcare experience required
  • Valid MS driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Reliable Transportation to provide services in the community
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format

  • Responsibilities:
  • Manages MAP teams across 18 counties of the PBMHR service area.
  • Tracks outcomes for Children's Services and completes reports.
  • Co-leads all MAP team meetings.
  • Coordinates with Department of Mental Health (DMH) representatives
  • Attends meetings in the community to build relationships/teams.
