Summary:
Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is actively seeking a Mobile Crisis Therapist to provide intensive therapy services as part of a special program in Purvis, MS. The Mobile Crisis Therapist position will provide emergency services for individuals in the PBMHR services area.  Position has on-call duties. The Mobile Crisis Therapist position is 24/7 and may require coverage after hours, on weekends and holidays. 

The Mobile Crisis Therapist position will be part of a team that partners with Lamar County Law Enforcement to create a mobile crisis response program that will divert individuals into trauma-informed harm reduction case management and treatment, according to readiness and choice. The goal of this team is to divert individuals from the criminal justice system to treatment and case management service providers.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in behavioral health field required
  • Must be eligible for DMH Certification within 60 days of hire; Clinical license preferred
  • Must have valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Reliable transportation needed to provide services in the community
  • Working knowledge of mental health symptoms and how they present in crisis situations
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Behavioral health internship required
  • Independent work ability

  • Responsibilities:
  • Conducts behavioral health assessments at the Lamar County Jail.
  • Assesses referrals through a person-centered formal and comprehensive process that identifies specific diagnostic information utilizing a biopsychosocial approach, with an emphasis on criminogenic factors contributing to substance use.
  • Engages individuals into harm reduction case management and treatment after release.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of SMI diagnoses and co-occurring disorders.
